Unmasked Anthology: The Cover Reveal

"The vivid, orange leaves that slowly fall from the mother tree, the soft, soothing sounds of a sweet melody. . ." —A poem from Unmasked by Lydia Kendall

Knowing me, you'd probably know I love participating in cover reveals. Covers are one of my favorite things about books, especially as a cover designer myself.

Today I have the opportunity of participating in the Unmasked anthology cover reveal! Unmasked is a collection of short stories and poems by some extremely talented young writers, many of which I have connected with over the Young Writer's Workshop. I just started reading Unmasked, and let me tell you in advance—it is gold. Especially the poems.

Unmasked has a theme that's extremely close to my heart—shining the light of hope in all the dark places. It's specially written for readers today who are drowning in the chaos in the world.

With that said, here's the blurb!

Unmasked Blurb

As we see the world overcome with darkness and fear, it's easy to lose sight of the light. We lose our hope, seeing, instead, only the fear.

Written from the hardship of these times, Unmasked is a collection of poems and short stories meant to bring hope to a hopeless world. It was written for those lost, hurting, and searching, to bring them the light at the end of the tunnel.

Isn't it just lovely?

From a designer standpoint, I love the color scheme, and how the birds combined with the lettering convey that feeling of freedom. This cover was illustrated by a friend of mine, Olivia G. Booms, and she did a great job.

Why I love anthologies

Anthologies are basically a collection of stories, poems, and other pieces of writing from different authors. They don't follow the standard format of a novel.

While this format takes a bit to get used to, I love anthologies because they show writers of many different backgrounds and styles uniting under one purpose—something I feel the world needs today.

We're all different in one way or another, whether it be by opinion, views, or experiences. But while everyone has their differences and disagreements and varying opinions, we don't have to let it divide us. We don't have to let that be the thing standing in the way of growing together.

That's why I love Unmasked so much. It's a contribution to the world, made up of young writers' works. Not only that—it displays the beauty of all these young writers uniting under one sole purpose—to shine hope into the darkness. To bring hope to the hopeless. To kick those shadows into the light and watch them disintegrate.

That's it for today, friends! I hope you enjoyed this little cover reveal and are excited for Unmasked to release, and stay tuned for a full review in the future.

P. S. What are your thoughts on the Unmasked cover? Are you going to preorder a copy? What are some of your favorite anthologies? Let me know in the comments!
